Shops, houses gutted in Khagrachhari
According to the correspondent of The Independent News, Khagrachhari, BD.
Mar 21: Shops including 02 Baker, its show room, one workshop, one stationary shop and houses gutted in a devastating fire at the central part of Khagrachhari Bazar in the district Sunday.
Properties worth about Tk half a crore were damaged in the fire.
Five persons were injured when a crowd rushed to bring the fire under control.
The fire was originated at about 1 pm from a bakery of one Siraj Mia, owner of Lucky Bakery at the Bazar, witnesses said. Soon the fire engulfed the other shops and nearby houses. The fire brigade from Khagrachhari, after two hours of tiring and frantic efforts, brought the fire under control.
Khagrachhari Pourashava chairman Joynal Abedin visited the spot.

JMB cadre arrested from Jamalpur
According to sources from The Independent News, Mymensight
Mar 21 : Elite force RAB arrested a suspected cadre of banned Islamic outfit JMB from Kutubpur village in Jamalpur district Monday.
The arrested was identified as Fajar Ali.
Acting on a tip off, RAB went to Kutubpur village and arrested Fajar Ali along with 6/7 books on Jihad.
He was taken to RAB-9 office in the district for interrogation.
Another report from Sylhet adds: Two persons were arrested along with 2 kgs of hemp and 54 bottles of phensidyl from a house at Kastghar area in the town Sunday. RAB sources said they arrested Jitu Mia,25 and Ramzan Ali,32 after raiding a colony and seized the drugs from their house.
The arrested had been selling drugs at Kastghar, Hawkers' Market and Banderbazar since long, the sources said.
A case was filed.
