Present situation, southern part of Chittagong Hill Tract - CHT
Cox'sbazar - January 14, 2006: According to firm sources, on December 27, 2006 Buddhist monk, abbot, of Alay Khaw Daung Buddhist temple (Alay Khaw Daung is area name, under the authorized of Lama police station, southern part of CHT) was asked by Rapid Action Battalion - RAB personals under the gun point about Arakanese revolutionaries, arms and ammunition.
In Alay Khaw Daung other village like Rayzunk ( Bangali name Babu village), Rwa Thike, Rwa Haung, Ray Faw Bari Rwa, etc villages are RAB's operation going on. And a villager from Rayzunk Rwa was arrested by RAB as a result of having mark of sealed picture in his body for suspected Burmese national, accordance to sources.
On the other hand, on 27 December, 2005, four Rakhine personals were arrested at Kalabari's house ( Kalabari mean a kind of head man in a village under the rule or custom of Hill Tract people in BD) including Kalabari in Palaikey village under the authorized of Netkongsari police station, Bandaraban District, southern part of CHT. And asked meanly for Arakan revolutionaries forces, arms and ammunitions.
In BD, RAB personals are being given full authority by BD government since one year back. And under the operation of RAB and by the name of cross-fired so many personals were die.
Otherwise, hill peoples are being ordered to provide information to police station if any guest visit from anywhere. So, hill peoples are so worrying as sources said.
